Alpine Wellness South Tyrol
Alpine climate for your healthy holiday
Pure sunshine and clear air - here the benefits of the natural alpine climate are truly obvious. According to a scientific study, alpine areas - from 1.000 to 1.500 meters above sea level - guarantee an absolute absence of mites and moulds and prove less pollen, than at a lower altitude. Intensive sun rays in combination with fresh and cool air have a stimulating effect, thus strengthening your immune system and your organism. Alpine climate not only erases the strains caused by high temperatures but it offers the purity of fresh air.The alpine climate in Ahrntal offers guests who suffer from allergies or are sensitive to pollen dust and react to house dust and mites, ideal conditions.
Recreation during winter and summer holidays
Many winter vacationers suggest that one week in the mountains is much more regenerating than three weeks summer holidays on the beach. The exercise in the fresh air, as well as the direct contact to the mountains, has many positive effects. Also summer holidays spent in the mountains prove to be more recuperating than on the beach.High altitude training for athletes.
Athletes involved in long distance sports such as: cross-country skiing, running or rowing have been using the positive effects of high altitude trainings in the mountains for years now.If one wants to be successful in sporting competitions, he often trains at a higher altitude (even at times higher up on the glaciers). Contrary to the subjective feelings of the normal guest, the high altitude training programs for athletes proves to be very effective.

A climate mine for troubled respiratory system
Breathe in/ revive….Respiration Hotels in Val Pusteria –Ahrntal offer healthy advantages and yet lots of fun – of course certified for allergic-free living, fun and excitement, kitchen and cellar, hiking and wellness - everything that brings new life into your holiday. In Predoi about 1,100 meters into the mountain there is a special micro-climate mine which is very good for people with respiratory system problems. Inside the climate mine the temperature is a consistent 9° Celsius, the humidity level is very high at app. 95% and a very small amount of absolute humidity (app. 8.5 grams of water per cubic meter of air). Measurements prove that the dust content at factor 20 lies under the limit for the definition of the cleanest breathable air and that the pollen content at app. factor 1.000 is lower than in the outdoor air. This means that in this mine we find the cleanest breathable air, which is virtually free of dust, allergen and pollen.
The so-called “speläotherapy” has been used in many East European countries since app. 200 years. In Germany this method of therapy is used since about 50 years and there are 12 similar climate mines there. Speläotherapy is a complimentary medicine and is not yet acknowledged in Italy as a form of therapy. That is why we are not allowed to use the term “ Healing climate mine” but “Climate mine”. A scientific study is however planned to prove that speläotherapy truly is an effective therapy for troubled respiratory systems. Children and adults from all over Val Pusteria come to the climate mine.
It is advised to visit the climate mine for 2 hours daily for a period of three weeks.
Come to Val Pusteria in South Tyrol and go to the end of valley called Ahrntal where you can link your summer holiday with a visit to the climate mine.
